How to Sell Auto Loan Leads

How to sell auto loan leads: sign dealers by territory, capture a credit application profile, and let dealers and lenders bid for exclusivity lead by lead.

Reviewed October 2026 Reading time 6 min
The short version

Auto loan leads go mostly to car dealers who finance shoppers with weak credit. Eight of the 20 companies in our directory focus on subprime and special finance, most sell exclusive real-time leads, and 5 say each lead goes to one dealership only.

The lead is a credit application: area, monthly income, time on the job, credit tier, loan type and vehicle. Dealers buy by territory, and the most detailed return policy here credits leads that miss exactly those filters.

Sign dealers by territory before you buy traffic, have each fund a balance, and let several dealers and lenders bid on each lead. Unsold leads are the biggest avoidable cost, so have a marketplace or second tier ready for areas no dealer covers.

Who buys auto loan leads

Sites in this market sell mostly to the dealer side, with consumer marketplaces and affiliate programs buying applications on the other.

BuyerWhat they buyWhat to know
Franchise and independent dealershipsExclusive real-time leads in their ZIP codes or radius, filtered on income and credit, delivered into their CRM or by email.Five sellers here promise one dealership per lead. Sell the territory through bids rather than a flat exclusive deal, and have each dealer fund a balance first.
Special finance and buy here pay here dealersSubprime, bad credit and recent bankruptcy shoppers with a complete application, income and time on the job.Eight of the 20 companies focus on these shoppers. Expect these dealers to ask how you know the income is real, since one seller collects proof of income for some leads.
Individual car salespeopleExclusive leads sent to them rather than to the store.A few sellers name salespeople as buyers. Let each set a cap that fits their balance.
Auto lenders and lender networksApplications that fit their approval profile, sometimes with a credit check authorized.A few consumer marketplaces pass applications to lender networks, and one seller targets by lender approval profile. Capture loan_type and credit_check_consent so lenders can filter.
Loan marketplaces and affiliate programsValid applications from publishers with their own sites, paid per valid lead, qualified lead, flat CPA or revenue share.Half the directory buys from affiliates or publishers. Read the traffic rules before sending, and keep a source sub ID on every lead.

Start with exclusive real-time web leads, since 13 of the 20 companies sell exclusive leads and 15 sell in real time. Several also sell calls, live transfers or booked appointments, but those need separate call tracking because Juiced distributes web leads.

What to capture and screen for

  • ZIP code, so dealers can filter by radius from the lot.
  • Monthly income, which several sellers let dealers set a minimum on.
  • Credit profile in bands a dealer recognizes, plus whether the shopper has a recent bankruptcy.
  • Employment status and time on the job.
  • Loan type: new, used, refinance, private party or lease buyout, since one seller credits refinance requests as returns.
  • Vehicle type, because one seller credits vehicles that are not a car, truck or SUV.
  • Whether the shopper agreed to a credit check.
  • A name, email and phone you have not sold before, and a source sub ID on every lead.

The field-by-field version is on the auto loan lead distribution page.

Building it, in order

  1. Sign dealers by territory before you build traffic

Find buyers first. Get each dealership's ZIP codes or radius, the minimum income and credit tiers its lenders approve, and the loan types it wants. A few sellers here price by territory and one checks a dealer's area at signup, which tells you where demand is before you spend.

  2. Get every dealer to fund a balance

Eight of the 20 companies sell through a rep, and few publish funding terms. A dealer who wants free sample leads or a promised count by a date is not a buyer yet. In Juiced the dealer funds a wallet before leads arrive and is charged as each lead is delivered.

  3. Write the return policy before the first lead

Copy the structure of the most detailed policy here: credit a dead phone, a duplicate, an out-of-area ZIP code, a vehicle type the dealer does not finance, a refinance request or income below the agreed minimum, within a set window. Do not credit a shopper who simply did not buy. Go through it on the first call, because dealers will blame the leads.

  4. Build the lead type around the credit application

Add monthly_income, employment_status, time_at_job, housing_status, monthly_housing_payment, credit_profile, loan_type, loan_amount and credit_check_consent. Mark the fields dealers filter on as required for ping and keep contact details for the post.

  5. Generate only where a funded dealer is waiting

Point traffic at the territories your funded dealers cover. An exclusive lead from a ZIP code no dealer wants is a cost with no buyer.

  6. Let several dealers bid on each lead

Exclusive does not have to mean a flat price. Each lead still goes to one buyer, the highest bidder, so dealers and lenders who overlap in an area compete for it. Buyers bid above your minimum and the highest bid wins the lead in seconds.

  7. Have overflow ready

A few sellers here sell aged leads, so a lead that misses fresh still has a later market. In Juiced, leads no buyer takes go to your own marketplace, where the price falls until someone buys with Buy Now or a standing Buy Order.

  8. Keep a source sub ID on every lead

One affiliate program here answers how many sub IDs you can use, and another rejects applicants it has already received. Track every lead to its publisher so a dealer's returns lead back to the source, then fix or cut that source.

What makes auto loan different

  • Eight of the 20 companies focus on subprime, special finance or bad credit shoppers, so the lead is a financing profile, not just a car shopper.
  • Exclusivity is by dealership. Five sellers say each lead goes to one dealership and is never resold, and only three sell shared leads.
  • Area is priced. A few sellers price by territory and filters, and one publishes a lead volume map by area.
  • Some leads arrive with evidence: one seller collects proof of income for some leads and checks recent bankruptcies against official records.
  • Consumer loan marketplaces sit next to dealer lead sellers, routing applications to lender networks and buying more from affiliates.
  • Returns tie to the dealer's agreed filters: income below the minimum, outside the ZIP area, the wrong vehicle type or a refinance request.

Common mistakes

  • Selling a short contact form when dealers filter on income, credit tier and time on the job.
  • Mixing refinance and purchase requests on one lead type when a seller here credits refinance requests as returns.
  • Promising one dealer an exclusive territory at a flat price instead of letting overlapping dealers bid.
  • Buying traffic in an area before a dealer there has funded a balance.
  • Leaving returns unwritten, then arguing over a shopper who did not buy.
  • Trusting a homepage over the agreement. One seller's homepage promises fully exclusive leads while its pricing page sells exclusivity as an add-on, and several terms pages here are generic website terms, not buyer agreements.

Frequently asked

Who buys auto loan leads?

Mostly car dealers: franchise and independent stores, special finance and buy here pay here dealers, and individual salespeople. A few consumer marketplaces route applications to lender networks, and half the directory buys applications from affiliates and publishers.

Do I need dealers in place before I generate?

Yes. Leads here are sold by territory, so a lead from an area with no funded dealer has nowhere to go fresh. Sign dealers, have them fund a balance, then generate in their areas.

How do I sell exclusive leads and still get bids?

In Juiced each lead goes to the single highest bidder, so it is exclusive to that buyer. Dealers who share an area compete lead by lead, which beats fixing one dealer at a flat price.

What should my return policy cover?

A dead phone or unreachable applicant, duplicates, an out-of-area ZIP code, a vehicle type the dealer does not finance, refinance requests if you sell purchases, and income below the dealer's agreed minimum. Those are the reasons the most detailed policy here credits.

Can I sell applications to affiliate programs instead of dealers?

Yes. Several companies here run affiliate programs that pay per valid lead, qualified lead, flat CPA or revenue share. Expect an application and site review, their creative only, no pop-ups or unsolicited email, and rejection of applicants they have already received.

Who handles Do Not Call scrubbing?

It varies, so put it in writing. One seller's terms make the buyer scrub against the national registry and own compliance, another says its live transfers are scrubbed, and one consumer site's form asks for consent to autodialed calls and texts. The rules are published by the FCC and FTC.

What do auto loan leads sell for?

No prices are published here. Sellers rarely publish them, and what an auto loan lead sells for depends on whether it is exclusive or shared, a web lead or a call, the geography, how fresh it is and how many buyers want it. The pay-per-lead pricing guide shows how to work out your own floor from cost and let buyers bid above it.

Does Juiced handle auto loan calls or live transfers?

No. Juiced distributes web leads and delivers them by webhook, email or text. It does not track or route phone calls, so if calls are part of your product you need call tracking software for that side.
