Tax relief leads are qualified on what the taxpayer owes and sold by the call as often as by the form.

The 25 tax relief companies in our directory screen on the amount owed and who it is owed to, sell live transfers almost as often as exclusive web leads, and publish few buyer terms.

Reviewed October 2026 Based on 25 tax relief lead companies
In short

Tax relief is small and phone-heavy. Of the 25 tax relief companies in our directory, 18 sell exclusive leads and 20 real-time leads, while 17 sell live transfers and 14 inbound calls. 13 describe themselves as call centers or live transfer shops, and email, direct mail, radio and TV all appear among the traffic sources generators name.

The lead is the tax problem. Several companies screen on the amount owed, a few on the type of problem, such as liens, unfiled returns or business tax debt, and one rejects taxpayers already working with another firm. Buyer terms are thin: 20 companies say nothing about how buyers fund an account, and 18 say nothing about contracts.

Juiced lets each tax firm fund a wallet, set filters and caps by state and amount owed, and bid above your minimum so the highest bid wins the lead in seconds. Leads no firm takes go to your own marketplace, where the price falls until someone buys. Juiced distributes web leads, so live transfers and inbound calls need separate call tracking.

Counts cover everything each company says it sells, which can include other verticals.

Exclusive and real-time leads are offered by most tax relief companies, and 17 of them sell live transfers, so a firm comparing sellers weighs a web lead against a screened call. Aged leads (11 companies) are the main secondary product, ahead of data (8), shared leads (7) and appointments (5). Start with exclusive web leads and treat aged sales as overflow.

What tax relief leads are screened for

Tax relief companies screen on the amount owed, the tax authority, the type of problem, the taxpayer's situation and a confirmed wish for help.

  • Amount owed. Five companies screen on the size of the tax debt, four of them by setting a minimum. It is the first thing a firm filters on, so make it required for ping.
  • Federal or state. One company qualifies on IRS or state tax debt, and the forms we reviewed ask whether the debt is owed to the IRS, a state or both. Firms that handle only federal cases filter state-only leads out.
  • Type of problem. A few name liens, penalties, unfiled returns or business tax debt as separate segments, and one sells business tax debt and Spanish language tax debt as their own offers.
  • Taxpayer situation. One company's transfers require income, no current bankruptcy and no other tax firm already on the case. Those are cheap questions that save a firm a wasted consultation.
  • Confirmed wish for help. Several companies describe people checking qualifiers by phone before a transfer, and one comparison site makes sure consumers know relief is a fee-based service before they submit.

What a tax relief lead has to carry

16 tax relief companies let buyers target by state or service area. Several also filter by the firm's business hours or time zone, which matters when transfers and callbacks need someone to answer.

Every lead type in Juiced starts with ten default fields. Add your own on top, and decide for each one whether it is required and whether the buyer receives it.

What you need to decide on a lead is not what you need to sell it

Every field carries four switches rather than one required flag.

Required for postMandatory when the lead is created: the full record you are selling.
Required for pingMandatory when checking which buyers want it. Usually a much shorter list.
DeliverableWhether the field is included in the data sent on to the buyer.
Hidden from API specKept off the public specification page.

Ping with state, zip, tax_authority, tax_debt_amount, has_unfiled_returns, enforcement_action, taxpayer_type and existing_resolution. A firm can tell from those whether the case fits its practice before it bids, without seeing who the taxpayer is.

Who sells tax relief leads

Most tax relief companies in our directory are multi-vertical sellers that list tax beside debt, loans or insurance. Only a handful are tax specialists: a lead network for tax companies, a consumer tax relief brand that sells its inquiries to firms, and a dedicated tax lead shop or two. 22 generate their own traffic, 13 run call centers, nine act as performance agencies and eight run networks or marketplaces.

Traffic is varied. Email is the most named source, followed by direct mail, then SEO, search, radio, TV and social. One company sells TV and radio campaigns that need a minimum buy-in, and another sells live calls from direct mail pieces.

How tax relief companies price and start

15 of the 25 companies price per lead and 14 quote custom pricing. Seven price per call and five per sale, and four bill calls only after a buffer or set call length. Getting started almost always means a quote form or a call: 21 describe a form, quote request, application or rep, only three offer self-serve signup, and three offer a pilot or test.

Published commitments are rare. Four companies run prepaid or funded accounts and one keeps a card on file, six say there is no long-term contract, and three say there are no minimums. That leaves the terms to your first call, so write them down: funding, what counts as a valid lead and how returns work.

Returns and exclusivity: read past the headline

12 companies mention returns, replacements or credits, but most give no written process. Several promise a replacement policy or say you will not pay for bad leads without saying what qualifies. The few that are specific credit disconnected or wrong numbers, unverified or duplicate leads, and calls from solicitors or outside the service area.

Exclusivity claims deserve the same care. One consumer tax brand tells buyers its leads are never resold while its consumer consent says details may go to multiple providers, a comparison site sends each form to several firms at once, and one seller's homepage and pricing page disagree on whether exclusivity is standard. Firms in this market have reason to ask how many buyers see a lead.

  • State how many firms receive each lead, and make the consumer form say the same thing.
  • Write which reasons earn a credit before the first lead.
  • In Juiced, approved returns are credited back to the buyer's wallet.

13 of the 25 companies buy from affiliates, publishers, call centers, list providers or referral partners, and eight describe how they pay them: cost per lead, per action, per sale or revenue share. One end buyer pays a set rate for identity-verified leads during business hours and pays only on conversion for after-hours or unverified leads, a clear sign of how much timing matters to a tax firm. Two bar incentivized traffic, and one reviews every creative before it runs.

Five companies mention TrustedForm or Jornaya certificates. A few consumer forms say the consent applies even to numbers on a do-not-call list, and one buyer notes that ad platforms treat debt relief ads under their own policies. Keep the certificate and a source sub ID on every lead. The rules themselves are published by the FCC and FTC.

How Juiced runs a tax relief lead business

  1. Buyers fund a wallet

Each buyer adds funds before leads arrive and is charged as each lead is delivered. Approved returns are credited back to the wallet. No invoices to send and no payments to chase.

  2. Buyers set filters and caps, then bid

Each buyer filters on your fields and caps how many leads they take. They bid above your minimum, and the highest bid wins the lead in seconds.

  3. Delivery goes where the buyer works

By webhook into the buyer’s CRM, by email or by text.

  4. Unsold leads go to your marketplace

A lead no buyer takes is not dropped. It goes to your own marketplace, where its price falls until someone buys it outright or a standing buy order picks it up.

Frequently asked

Should I sell tax relief leads exclusive?

Yes, to start. 18 of the 25 tax relief companies in our directory sell exclusive leads and only seven sell shared. Make sure your consumer consent and your buyer page say the same thing about how many firms get the lead.

What should a tax relief lead include?

The amount owed, whether it is owed to the IRS or a state, and the type of problem, such as unfiled returns, liens or business tax debt. Mark those required for ping so firms can bid on the cases they handle.

Why do tax firms care about business hours?

Several companies filter by the firm's hours or time zone, and one buyer pays its set rate only for verified leads during business hours. A tax lead that waits overnight is worth less, so set caps the firm can answer.

Do tax relief buyers expect calls?

Many do. 17 companies sell live transfers and 14 inbound calls. Juiced distributes web leads, so calls need separate call tracking.

How do tax relief companies handle returns?

12 mention returns or credits, but few publish the rules. The specific ones credit bad numbers and duplicate or unverified leads. Write your list and walk each firm through it on the first call.

Can I sell tax relief traffic to firms that buy from affiliates?

Yes. 13 companies buy from affiliates, publishers or call centers, and eight describe paying per lead, per action, per sale or by revenue share. Expect an application and a review of your traffic sources.

What do tax relief leads sell for?

No prices are published here. Sellers rarely publish them, and what a tax relief lead sells for depends on whether it is exclusive or shared, a web lead or a call, the geography, how fresh it is and how many buyers want it. The pay-per-lead pricing guide shows how to work out your own floor from cost and let buyers bid above it.

Does Juiced handle tax relief calls or live transfers?

No. Juiced distributes web leads and delivers them by webhook, email or text. It does not track or route phone calls, so if calls are part of your product you need call tracking software for that side.
