How to Sell Workers’ Compensation Leads

How to sell workers' comp leads to law firms that judge every lead against their intake rules. Find funded firms first, then screen for the claim they actually take.

The short version

Workers' comp buyers are injury and workers' comp law firms, and most companies in our directory sell them exclusive, real-time leads plus live transfers. Several also sell signed cases, so you are competing with sellers who hand over a screened claimant.

The work is in the screening: an injury at work, the claim stage, how long ago it happened, medical treatment and whether the claimant already has a lawyer. Several companies screen by phone before billing, and several return policies credit represented claimants.

Sign firms before buying traffic, have each fund a balance, write workers' comp return reasons separately from your other legal leads, and keep overflow ready for claims in states no firm covers.

Who buys workers’ compensation leads

Nearly every company here sells rather than buys, so the buyers are law firms and the agencies that serve them.

BuyerWhat they buyWhat to know
Workers' comp and injury law firmsExclusive real-time leads or live transfers of injured workers in their state, county or metro.Agree the states, the qualifying questions and who answers at intake before the first lead, and have each firm fund a balance up front.
Firms buying signed casesSigned retainers or full intakes, which several companies here sell, at least one with medical documents attached.A signed case is a different product from a lead, with intake and signature work outside Juiced. Keep its terms and return rules separate.
Agencies reselling to firmsLeads they can pass to their own law firm clients. One company here offers volume pricing and white-label leads for agencies.Ask which firm each lead ends up with and keep your own return policy, since the agency's client will blame the leads.
Firms testing a new marketA small first order. Several companies here start firms with a test order or channel test.Turn the test into a funded balance, not free leads, and agree what result counts as a pass before it starts.

The workers’ compensation lead buyer directory lists every company we found that publicly buys or sells workers’ compensation leads, with what each one says it does. It is a research starting point, with no contact details.

Start with exclusive real-time web leads, since most companies here sell them and Juiced distributes web leads. Live transfers and signed cases are each a large part of this market, but they need call tracking and intake work outside Juiced.

What to capture and screen for

  • Injury at work, and employment status: employee, independent contractor, gig worker or federal employee.
  • Claim stage: not filed, receiving benefits, stopped or denied.
  • Injury date, checked against a window or the statute of limitations.
  • Injury type and a short description in the claimant's words.
  • Medical treatment and missed work.
  • No attorney yet.
  • State and county, matched to the firm's coverage.
  • A consent record and a source sub ID on every lead.

The field-by-field version is on the workers’ compensation lead distribution page.

Building it, in order

  1. Sign firms before you build traffic

Find buyers first. Get each firm's states or counties, the claim types it takes, the claimants it refuses and how many leads its intake can handle.

  2. Get every firm to fund a balance

No free sample leads, no promise of a number of cases by a date, no invoices. In Juiced the firm funds a wallet before leads arrive and is charged as each lead is delivered.

  3. Write workers' comp return rules on their own

Decide how you treat bad numbers, represented claimants, injuries that were not work-related, federal employees and claimants the firm could not reach. One company here credits car accident leads on many more grounds than workers' comp leads, so do not copy one policy across.

  4. Build the lead type around the claim

Use work_related, injury_type, benefits_status, incident_date, missed_work, medical_treatment and has_attorney. Mark the ones a firm needs to decide as required for ping, and hold contact details for the post.

  5. Set expectations on the first call

Explain what a lead is, how fast it arrives and what is returnable. Firms that expected a signed case will blame a web lead, so be clear which product they are buying.

  6. Generate only where a funded firm is waiting

Point traffic at the states and counties your funded firms cover. A claim from a state nobody bought has nowhere to go but overflow.

  7. Let several firms bid on each lead

Where more than one firm covers a state, let them bid above your minimum. The highest bid wins the lead in seconds, and each lead still goes to one firm.

  8. Have overflow ready

Leads nobody takes go to your own marketplace, where the price falls until someone buys with Buy Now or a standing Buy Order.

  9. Record the campaign on every lead

Store source_sub_id on each lead. When a firm reports represented claimants or non-work injuries, the field shows which campaign sent them.

What makes workers’ compensation different

  • Live transfers are offered by most companies here, and several run their own call centers.
  • Signed cases are a real product: several companies sell signed retainers alongside leads.
  • Screens are claim-specific: work-related injury, claim stage, time since injury and representation.
  • Radio is a named traffic source at several companies, as it is across the legal markets.
  • A few companies raise attorney ethics and bar advertising rules themselves, and one reviews a firm's regulatory situation before selling to it.
  • Return policies are detailed, and one writes narrower rules for workers' comp than for car accident leads.

Common mistakes

  • Buying traffic before a firm has funded a balance in that state.
  • Selling a workers' comp lead without asking whether the injury happened at work.
  • Copying a car accident return policy onto workers' comp leads.
  • Sending claimants who already have a lawyer, which several return policies credit.
  • Handing out free sample leads or promising a number of signed cases by a date.
  • Letting a firm expect a signed case when you are selling a lead.
  • Having no overflow plan for claims in states no firm covers.

Frequently asked

What do workers' comp firms screen for first?

An injury at work, the claimant's employment status, the claim stage, the injury date, treatment and whether there is already a lawyer. Several companies here screen claimants by phone before billing.

Should I sell leads, transfers or signed cases?

Most companies here sell both web leads and live transfers, and several sell signed cases. Start with web leads, which Juiced distributes; transfers need call tracking and signed cases need intake work outside Juiced.

How do I keep workers' comp leads from being returned?

Screen for a work-related injury and no attorney, check the injury date, and write the return policy before the first lead. Several published policies credit represented claimants and out-of-area leads.

Do workers' comp firms expect minimums?

Several companies here say there is no minimum order. Others set a minimum per category or per order, bill a first block of leads, or ask for a deposit. Ask for a funded balance instead of a long contract.

Do I need geographic exclusivity?

Most companies sell each lead to one firm, but few give a firm a whole territory. One rotates leads round robin in shared territories. Decide your rule and tell each firm how many others cover the same state.

What do workers’ compensation leads sell for?

No prices are published here. Sellers rarely publish them, and what a workers’ compensation lead sells for depends on whether it is exclusive or shared, a web lead or a call, the geography, how fresh it is and how many buyers want it. The pay-per-lead pricing guide shows how to work out your own floor from cost and let buyers bid above it.

Does Juiced handle workers’ compensation calls or live transfers?

No. Juiced distributes web leads and delivers them by webhook, email or text. It does not track or route phone calls, so if calls are part of your product you need call tracking software for that side.

From Juiced

Selling workers’ compensation leads to more than one buyer?

Juiced is lead distribution software for companies that sell leads. Buyers fund a wallet and bid above your minimum, each lead goes to the highest bid in seconds, and leads that miss their first buyer go to your own marketplace instead of being lost.
